Eamonn Dowd and the Racketeers, from Dublin, have just finished recording a great new album which will be released on Cannery Row in October. The album was recorded by Paul Thomas, who is best known for his work with Thin Lizzy and early U2. Hot Press magazine said of The Racketeers’ last album, “Exit Hellsville”, "A damn fine example of gravel-voiced country rock.....these songs are full of unaffected, unrefined humanity, a kind of world-weary, warts 'n' all honesty that's getting rarer in music....there is something raw and real about The Racketeers that's easy to love." A CD launch gig is being organised - we will post details as soon as we have them.
