Mansions Of Gold is the title of the
new album from Eamonn Dowd & The
Racketeers. A raw rootsy affair - 11
new songs including the singles ‘Women
Around Here,’ ‘45’
and ‘Sweet Angel.’
It rocks , it roll’s and it exists
in a world all of its own. You’d
get the impression that these guys don’t
give a damn about trends, radio play
or commercial success. And you’d
be right ! On this collection, Dowd
lets rip on electric guitar, producing
walls of feedback. Lyrically it takes
you someplace else, another world, another
time, and throughout, Les Keye and Chris
Teusner hold down the beat. And then
there’s the plaintive ballads
augmented by organ, banjo and saxophone.
Since the mid 90’s Irish man
Dowd has fronted The Racketeers as they
brought their fiery brand of americana
/ rock n roll to audiences throughout
Europe, releasing four albums along
the way. In recent years Eamonn has
also toured in a solo / acoustic capacity,
blazing a trail through Germany, The
Netherlands, Belgium, the Baltics, USA
and Canada.

Based around the compositions of Berlin
singer-songwriter Tobias Panwitz, Trailhead
have a gift for lyrical and melodic
folk-rock and Americana with texts that
are rich in imagery. With influences
both from the 60s and 70s and from the
current crop of alternative country
bands, Panwitz's warm, atmospheric voice
is backed sometimes by simple acoustic
arrangements based around his country-esque
guitar playing and at other times by
a full band.

INVITED TO SHOWCASE AT FOLK ALLIANCE CONVENTION
Two Dollar Bash have
been selected for a remarkable third successive year to play a
showcase gig at the prestigious South by Southwest music industry
conference and festival, which is widely viewed as one of the most
important live music and industry events in the world.
The
band has also received an invitation for a showcase at the North
American Folk Alliance annual conference in Memphis, Tennessee, in
February. This is another important event which is attended by
festival bookers, agents and labels from throughout the United States
and Canada.

THE DURGAS just finished a great series of
concerts on the Island of Hawaii promoting their frist official release
of the acclaimied debut album "Back To The Start".
The Durgas are just back from their support tour in Thailand/Cambodgia,
where they played to and with children from Tsunami affected areas (the
Tsunami anniversary being the 26th of December) and Burmese refugees,
in HIV hospitals and in communities where they are bringing together
children from different ethinc and religious groups. Check their
